  The saving grace was the duck main, partner loved it. My lamb ragout was extremely disappointing, fatty lamb, tender but tasteless, no depth and Halfway through the mains we were asked how the meal was and if we wanted more drinks, by that time we were over it. if the request had been timed properly we would have ordered a bottle of wine, which is where I understand restaurants make their money.

  My partner asked for wild turkey and coke. The waiter said “water and a coke. Ok.” Lucky I realised and we got it sorted.

  We were outside which was fine. The fan provided enough air to be pleasant. Not the restaurants fault but we spent the first 20-30 minutes enjoying the toddler in the high chair banging their bottle on the table and yelling and screaming ...

  Then I asked if we could see the specials board. Waiter was annoyed with himself because he had forgotten. Brings it over and places it so close I can’t read it (too dark) and on angle so partner can’t read it. Waiter gets his iPhone out and shines on the specials board.

  Staff were very friendly and helpful. My pasta was awesome. My wife had chicken which was a bit disappointing but they exchanged it for something else, apart from the chicken we had it's great place.

  Partners scallops were ok, I liked them, he said they were over cooked, the cauliflower purée tasteless and baby herbs? Didn’t see them.

  Our waiter asked for our drink orders. I said just a sparkling wine - he replied ok 1 sparkling water. Then I checked the drinks menu and found 4 sparklings. Chose the grandin and very happy with it.

  I had the Calamari, partner had the scallops. Both very ordinary. I ordered the calamari because it was advertised as unique. You can’t tell me that the “territory gourmet chili and lemon myrtle jam” was anything else than commercial sweet chili sauce. It was all dumped on a plate, with a random piece of lemon not appetizing to look at, and tasteless to eat, the calamari was just your usual frozen rings in a very tasteless (supposed to be Panko and cashew) crumb.
